Summary
He sees a thin, tall man with dark hair, equally dark eyes hidden behind a pair of big glasses and a face that can only be described as pretty, or perhaps even beautiful.
A face he knows, but he doesn’t have an idea why.
And then, just as the man smiles, his brain finally catches up and he jerks away, gasping.
“Hey. Easy there,” the man says, his smile growing wider. “Don’t worry, I’m not gonna hurt you.”
It’s the face he always sees in his dreams. The only bright thing in his dreams filled with blood and gore and horror. A smiling man in white, who is wearing a blindfold for some reason. Except for those dreams where he’s not smiling, where he’s lying in a coffin with a terrible slash across his neck, dead, dead…
“Relax,” the man says now and his dark eyes are so soft, so kind… “I’m Xiao Xingchen, by the way.”
Fuck. I know. I call you that in my dreams.

With his dying breath, Xue Yang desperately wishes for a chance to relive, and perhaps change, his life. To see his Daozhang smile one last time.
In a way, his wish comes true. He is born again, without the memories of the Xue Yang from the past.
