Summary
Ei, a young and ambitious firefighter, finds herself running amongst the flames and the smoke of a burning building after hearing some highly distressing sounds coming from within. There, hiding right underneath a fallen and half burned wardrobe in one of the apartments, she discovers a scared and injured little kitsune, no more than just a few months old. After thinking about it for no more than just a few seconds, Ei decides to take the animal under her wing.

There was no doubting her words, given the drops of water hanging off the tips of her gorgeous pink hair. Which hung loose behind her, strands of it resting against her slender collarbones. She wasn't dressed in her usual shrine maiden attire, but rather a thinner robe of soft material tied loosely around her waist. Her sleeves were barely holding up, already slipping off to reveal her fair shoulders. A generous amount of skin was exposed under her neck. Ei struggled to not let her gaze follow the trail of the drop of water that trickled all the way from Yae Miko's neck down to her chest, continuing its way into her exposed cleavage…..

Despite the blush increasing in color, the woman takes the hand and shakes it. “I’m Edelgard. Nice to meet you, Byleth. Though I must ask; do you flirt with all your customers, or just the ‘cute’ ones?”
Byleth winces. “Sorry, that was inappropriate of me.”
This causes Edelgard to laugh. “No worries, it felt nice. And I’m glad that my gaydar isn’t as out of date as Dorothea claims.”
Now it’s Byleth who has to return the laugh. “Edelgard, I’m a female bartender who wears nothing but flannel. There was a zero-percent chance I wasn’t queer.”
Edelgard nearly chokes on the sip of cranberry juice she was taking.

Eisner's is a small bar tucked away outside Garreg Mach University's campus. Byleth is content to let the summer days pass slowly, until Edelgard walks through her door and makes life a little more interesting.
