Gary Oak has always loved Ash Ketchum. He vowed to himself and to the other boy back when they were best friends that he would always protect him. And even though they weren't anymore, Gary had no intentions of breaking that promise.
Now with Ash on the brink of turning ten tomorrow, getting his first pokémon, and starting his pokémon journey, Gary finds himself trying to contain his excitement. This was the moment he was waiting for. Of course, the thought of Ash venturing out alone, exposed to potential dangers and harm, unsettles Gary deeply.
