Louis stays behind, studying psychology, pretending that the absence of one best friend doesn’t rearrange the flat’s gravity.

Summary
When Harry Styles finally gets a scholarship to attend the most prestigious private high school of Holmes Chapel, he decides to join the football team in search of new experiences.
What he doesn't expect at all is that the team is full of older, popular and wealthy frat boys - including their captain, Louis Tomlinson, who is basically the dream target among girls. Harry and Louis form a bond pretty quickly despite being complete opposites from very different worlds. What they soon start to share though, are more and more secret little rendezvous and whether Louis likes it or not, he's becoming part of something he absolutely shouldn't be. Not just because he’s convinced he’s straight, but because it could ruin far more than just his reputation.

They had to pull back for air. Louis surveyed the guy’s face, in awe of his blown pupils and sharp jawline, the way their shared spit glistened on his lips.
“Hi,” he breathed. He blinked, and came back to himself a little bit, blushing at his own boldness. “Sorry. Is this okay?”
The stranger removed his right hand from the curve of Louis’ waist in order to cup his jaw, tilting it up to the angle he desired. He pressed their lips together, murmuring, “Definitely.” And then he kissed harder.
When Louis sees his ex-boyfriend kissing a random girl at a party, he acts out of blind jealousy. He kisses the first guy he can find. It turns into a thing.

“It sounds a bit homophobic, though, doesn’t it?” Harry drawls, craning his neck to look at her.
“What does?” Mitch chimes in from across the room. “Congratulations?”
“Yeah…” Harry hums, clearly distracted with his own thoughts. “Like… It’s like I’m saying: you're gay. We get it. Congratu-fucking-lations.”
“I’m pretty sure the addition of ‘fucking’ is what makes it rude, H,” Sarah points out innocently, but she’s smirking.
(Or the one where Louis Tomlinson comes out as gay at the age of thirty and all the other former One Direction members find out through social media. All of them. Harry Styles included.)
