Summary
A lot's changed in the months since BattleWorld and Peter Parker's feeling the impact. Mutants have begun appearing all over the world and not everyone has taken to this new reality with open arms.
As Spider-Man, he dedicates his time to maintaining a peace he has fought so long for. However, in his struggle he comes to blows with a new threat. One eerily similar to an old adversary he would rather forget and bringing with them technology that could tip the scales in favour of anti-mutant activity.
For Peter this is about more than simply stopping the bad guy.
This is about keeping a promise.

A high priority Justice League summons wasn’t unusual, on account of the numerous times that someone found out about an imminent invasion or an apocalypse or that there was a threat from beyond time. Usually only the leaguers on hand and available would come to these summons.
But when John Constantine calls a summons, you go.
“Alright, don’t get your panties in a twist you ‘lot. We’re just gettin’ a couple visitors who’ll be stayin’ in Gotham for the next year or so. High priority that they stay alive.”
Batman growled “Are they a threat?”
Constantine did a smoke before answering “Nah, worse.”
The tension worsened in the league battle room.
“They’re expecting.”

Summary
Unbeknownst to either of them, the basement of the DODC lab in which Peter was breathing his last contained a very curious device recovered from the wreckage of the Avengers compound which had been destroyed in the final climactic battle with Thanos. This curiosity had found itself shifting and humming to life, powered by the raw energy of Jean’s telekinetic field.
And as Jean felt the grip on her powers slacken and give way to something uncontained and furious, the discarded remains of Tony Stark’s quantum tunnel activated and had some quite unforeseen circumstances.
The world seized.
