Summary
“Morning.” Mira greeted Zoey, before her eyes suddenly narrowed. “No way. Is that a hickey?”
Zoey gasped in surprise, glancing down at her neck to see the offender. That darkened bruise on her neck with two little remnants of breached skin, like a vampire bite. That darkened bruise on her conveniently exposed neck, revealed by her loose-fitting turtle sweater that was slipping down her shoulder.
“And those are totally demon fang marks.” Mira grinned, leaning in towards Zoey.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Zoey slapped her hand over the mark as she looked away from Mira, a blush decorating her cheeks.
“I’m guessing you and Mystery had some fun yesterday, huh?” Mira smirked, pinching one of Zoey’s cheeks.
“Stop teasing!” Zoey swatted her hand away. She awkwardly rubbed the mark on her neck. “But yeah, Mystery…right.”
She glanced to her side. To Rumi.

“You said you were planning to rent an apartment over the summer, right?” Blake stated. “Well…”
Shit. No one was around and this was still embarrassing. Her throat was closing in on itself, trying to save her from making this mistake.
“…so am I.” She finally forced out. “And I was thinking maybe we could split expenses and share an apartment?”
Jaune stared at her in bewilderment for a good few seconds while Blake fought the urge to run away.
“You want to…” He slowly spoke. “…share an apartment this summer…with me…to save money?”

Blake is too afraid to return to her parents during summer break after how things were when she ran away with her ex. Jaune is too afraid to return back home during summer break after running away in the middle of the night to pursue his dreams.
So clearly, the obvious thing to do is to share an apartment so they can save on money.
And in the process, find they might be a bit more similar than they thought. A tale of stupidity, connecting, and the unlikeliest romance to ever occur.
