Reid saw his own jaw-muscles tense through McCullum's eyes. To McCullum, his eyes were still blue, his skin pale but human, a walking deception. He saw the hint of fangs. He saw himself smile.
“Oh.” Reid nodded, “Don't misunderstand me. I'm long done with justifying my actions. We're still talking about you, Geoffrey.”***
Elisabeth burned, and Dr Jonathan Reid let her go in the end. He was never what she needed to save her. With the epidemic resolved, the monstrous Dr Reid has no immediate plans for the rest of eternity, but he's not in a hurry to find them. They will come, in time.Meanwhile, in London, Geoffrey McCullum held it together to face down his maker in the cemetery, but the truth is he's not adjusting well. He has one certainty to hold onto : He is a Vampire Hunter. So it's time to hunt again.
As they come together again, what will win out in the end; the man, or the monster ?
This fangfic starts alongside the end of the game. A kink story of love, hate and blood, but also of the choices we make along the way. Spoilers ahead.

“Doctor Reid. Please, I need you to stay awake. Please, just a little while.”
He opened his eyes again. It seemed he was on the sofa. The torn remnants of the sheets had been tucked around him. His gaze settled on the wide, tearful eyes and he understood. His Skal must be hungry.
“No, not that. Thank you, doctor.” His Skal whimpered softly, turning his face away from his master's torn wrist. His panting breath made a lie of the words and Jonathan woke a little more.
Just enough for the rage to seep in.

When hate reigns, love must be tenacious. The Sad Saint is not a doctor, to devise a cure. He is not a warrior, to capture the beasts. He is only a man...only a Skal... only himself.
Yet with God, all things are possible. So he will do what he can; he will try.

Hunter and Killer, Saint and Sinner, Monster and Doctor; Three beasts and three men come together in the aftermath of the epidemic. There will be consequences. There will be blood. Yet wherever the Sad Saint stands, there will also - always - be light.

A little standalone of an intimate encounter between blue-eyed / mostly blue-eyed Reid and Sean. Written for me when I needed some happy. Sharing with you all in case you do too.

I intended to end 'Grip' with one more big sex scene. But as the writing went on, it felt like an inappropriate place to end it. So, the scene got dropped in favour of a much more important climax. Except... I couldn't quite leave the idea alone. So I wrote it anyway.
This is a wholly unnecessary amount of vampire sex (and a dose of Vampyr angst). It is excessive. It is ridiculously self-indulgent. It contains more dark and dirty McReid +1 than a reasonable world needs.
I should never have written this. You definitely should not read it. You have been warned.
That said, this follows immediately after the last chapter of Grip. You can decide for yourself if it's canon or not to that story! Enjoy!

Sean knows himself to be a sinner, seeking salvation. Doctor Reid knows himself to be a monster, even if something keeps him from descending upon the Sad Saint's shelter. Geoffrey McCullum knows that he has no tolerance for this angst and needs to get to the bottom of it.
Following on from the events of 'Grip', Sean Hampton continues to care for his flock in a city preyed upon by (dark dragon) Reid and his progeny.
