“Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.” He is sitting on the sidelines of the training ground. She turns around. “But honestly,” he sighs. “Every time I see you, you are training. What happened to hiding in your room all day doing your artwork?”
“It isn't really by choice. Hubert gave me this schedule and it- it's really rigorous. He said we have to be ready for when everyone comes back. We're going to be heading into a lot of battles in a couple months.”
He's eating an apple, lounging without a care in the world. “Hubert’s dramatic. You're already a strong fighter. You don't need to be training this hard.”
She shakes her head. “I want to be the best I can be. For the Empire. For Lady Edelgard. For myself, too… I guess?”
“Fine,” Linhardt sighs. “Let me see you in action, then.”
Bernie narrows her eyes. “Why?”
“Because you're cute, and I like watching you.”
