Summary
Mand’alor the Peacemaker lives again! After being frozen in carbonite for seven hundred years, Steve wakes up to a new world, and the peace he once negotiated with the Jedi Order is a crushed dream in the wake of Order 66. He’s a warrior out of time and without a clan no less, but he teams up with the Avengers - a rebellious group that gives Force-sensitive individuals and their families a new chance at life far, far away from the Empire’s reach.
Driven by the belief that no one should be hunted for who they are, he finds something akin to purpose. However, the Imperial death machine is ever evolving and during what is supposed to be a standard smuggle run, they run into a new kind of deathly trouble…

Summary
Eddie knows he’s only got himself to blame, knows it’s his own cowardice that’s led to this. He could tell himself that he doesn’t know why it feels like this between Ana and him, but that would be a lie, too. The reason sits right beside him.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” Buck asks, cocking his head slightly to the side, voice bordering between careful and ribbing. There’s a gentle smile on his lips but it begins to drift when the silence between them lasts for a moment too long.
If being a firefighter has taught Eddie anything it is that only a moment separates now or never. -

“You don’t have to,” Clint says simply, still very much not caring. “It’s gonna be fine—I promise.”
It’s the second time he’s said that in less than a minute, which might be some kind of record, but Kate finds herself in a state of rapture. Between the whirlwind that has been the last couple of days and now being told to lay low with the very Winter Soldier, she thinks she has a pretty solid reason to freak out.
Now, chance is a fickle, fickle thing, but this is just ridiculous. Still, she supposes this is what she deserves for feeling restless between adventures. Luckily, as it turns out, this is all she could ever want. -

“What was it like being frozen for all those years?”
The simple answer is that I don’t know. The ice didn’t slow my heart, it stopped it. I was no more alive than your average Thanksgiving turkey sitting in your freezer – everything that made me into me was gone.
In a similar vein, believers often ask if I went to heaven, and I always answer the same thing: I don’t know. If I did, it’s not a place I remember.

Cracked brow.
Split lip.
Bruised knuckles.
Sore ribs.
All in all, well worth the life of one tiny kitten. It’d gone down in the blink of an eye: dockyard workers believing that torturing a poor, helpless creature was an adequate way to spend time, but she’d shown them otherwise. She hadn’t intended to cause a ruffle – things had just escalated from snappy words to fists flying by in a flurry, three against one. But at least the kitten had escaped, a beautiful calico thing, and it was the only thing that mattered.
Bucky patches up his fighter and a confession follows.

Summary
The uphill had defeated them in the same way the weather was slowly killing them; the horse had gone down like a falling tree – slow at first, and then with a loud thump. It didn't matter what the horse's name was or that he was named after a giant, they still wouldn't make it.

Summary
Everything that could ache, ached. Lancelot couldn’t tell what hurt the most; the gaping hunger that gnawed away at his insides, or the vivid headache that with each pulse stirred up nausea, or the angry pinch in his ribs as he breathed in and out. The stillness surrounding them only magnified every sound, every sensation – from the rocking gait as Goliath sluggishly followed the beaten path, to the whisper from the tree crowns above as the wind pulled through. The sky peeked through the mosaic of greenery, heavy with crimson clouds that promised nightfall.

Summary
It was a lifetime ago since they’d ridden into Hawksbridge – or at least, that was how it felt. The more Nimue thought about it, the more it felt like it’d happened to someone else. Like it’d been a different Pym, a different Nimue that’d ridden in on Old Boy with the hope of escaping everything that ever was.
