Summary
“Am I not doing a good enough job?” he asked, quietly, and regretted the question as soon as he said it: it was something he would have asked Father, and Waylon was not Father. He could tell from Waylon’s silence that he was taken aback by the question as well.
“No,” he said. “I mean, yes. But Eddie—I know something happened to you. I wish you’d tell me. I wish you’d let me help you.”
“It’s over, Waylon,” he said at last. “It was a long time ago. I don’t need help.” There was another silence. “Was your dad the person who hurt you? Your uncle?” Waylon asked, and then, when he was quiet, the seconds ticking past, “Do you like having sex, Eddie?”If he spoke, he would cry, and so he didn’t speak.
The word no, so short, so easy to say, a child’s sound, a noise more than a word, a sharp exhalation of air: all he had to do was part his lips, and the word would come out, and—and what? Waylon would leave, and take everything with him.Bookmarked by ValkyrieIsDead

Summary
Tired, in pain, missing fingers and possibly about to be killed by the walrider Miles Upshur just wanted this night to end. He didn't expect for this night to turn out as awful as it did but here he was, picked up in the air about to be killed. But just as the Walrider was about to enter his body the ghostly figure stopped, it's attention somewhere else. Miles looked and saw a strange black fog accumulating in the room, getting thicker and darker. The static he's been hearing in his ears were replaced by a strange crackling noise. Almost like a whisper. Somehow this dark fog felt more evil than anything Miles had seen throughout the night. And to his surprise the Walrider dropped him and flew off scared. The Walrider scared? At the moment Miles didn't care. He finally escaped one hell, too bad he didn't realize he was entering into a new one.
Waylon yelled as Eddie pulled on the rope to hang him. The whole time he thought about his wife and kids, his life flashing before his eyes. But luck was on his side as the ceiling caved in, a metal rod empalling Eddie. He thought it was over, but suddenly a black flog grew at his feet. Eddie saw it too and in his ears he heard whispers promising something Eddie couldn't deny.
