Summary
Connor Stoll is bored of everything at Camp, with the quests and wars over life feels monotonous and dull. Struggling to find his place with his brother away at college and thoughts of what he'll do post-camp slowly engulfing him, Chiron sends him on an errand to the city. There, he meets Percy's mortal best friend and his life quickly becomes far less boring as he finds his place in the world.

He pushes back the sentiment that prayer isn’t meant for animals—isn’t meant for mutants like him. He presses his forehead to the ground before him, hot, wet tears streaming down his cheeks. His lips move in prayer, words having gone unpracticed and grown rusty on his tongue.
In the face of it all—all the horror and torment and suffering he has faced—he feels a sense of relief and comfort. Returning to this holy place feels like coming home. God had heard his prayers after all.

Summary
Caleb has recently bought himself a new home, offered at an amazing discount. While the house itself is nice and the cheap price is a great bonus, he is most attracted to the fact that there was a stash of homemade wine in the cellar. Not much about the previous owner is known other than that she was a strange lady who died from a bout of insanity. That doesn’t deter him as he moves in as soon as possible. He intends to wait until the next morning to check the wine out with his friends, but his curiosity gets the better of him. Besides, a quick peek, a quick sip, can’t hurt, can it?
Or maybe it’ll force him into some supernatural reality-transcending trip filled with nightmare-inducing monsters wanting to obliterate his soul, all the while learning about some dead couple who may or may not have been deeply involved in his past that he never knew or wanted to know.
