Summary
Firefly understood that this mission would be unlike any she's ever faced, and that she would be facing pain and hardship unlike anything she has ever experienced in the past. It was a mission unlike any other, and she knew now that nothing could have ever prepared her for the role she was meant to play.
For once, the script wasn't asking for her to be the Molten Knight.
For once, she wasn't being asked to destroy, but to protect and guide.
For once in a life that was both too long and too short, Firefly found herself faced with mixed, conflicting emotions she was still trying to understand, and pain that was not so easily cured or dealt with...
... And it was all because of that girl who still meant so much to her but would likely never realize it.
But, Firefly was on a mission, and despite any feelings and misgivings she might have she would complete it without fail. For the dream of tomorrow that burned brightly in her heart, and for the chance to finally understand just what it meant when that girl had told her in days past that her greatest happiness would be when she could see her live not as a weapon, but as a human being.
