“Where is he,” Jax bypasses- isn’t here to play games. Logan squints his eyes at him and furrows his brows.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about-”
“Don’t,” Jax says, halfway to a snarl, and looks at him with wild, glassy eyes full of rage. “Don’t do that shit with me. Where is he.”
He can see the gears turning in Logan’s head, parses out the exact moment everything clicks into place, and Logan’s eyes widen a fraction. He knows. But still he doesn’t cave. Just shakes his head, slow and steady like an adult denying their child their favorite toy.
Jax’s nose twitches.

He moves to spare a glance over his shoulder out of the corner of his eye when Payne’s hand collides with the back of his head in a rough smack, enough to get it jerking to the side before Colton jerks it back with a snarl on his lips. He rallies against the hold on his biceps before he even has enough sense to understand what he’s doing, egged on by the monster as he struggles in their grasp; it’s mostly a halfhearted attempt, full of the knowledge of what would be to come in the wake of a rebellion. He’s too far in his right mind for that. Though the rage flaring up like a wildfire in veins threatens how long that statement will last.
The soldiers at his sides grit their teeth and wrestle against him as best they can- one of them gives his arm a particularly ruthless tug and Colton snaps his teeth, sharp as a blade’s edge, in their direction.
“Goddamn animal,” the soldier hisses, and right then and there something comes loose inside Colton’s chest.
The chains snap.

Colton furrows his brows.
“Why.”
Tristan raises his brows and leans back a bit, all liquid ease and loose limbs, and instantly Colton knows he’s hiding something. Trying to disguise himself, put a mask over what he’s really feeling in the hopes it doesn’t show. It usually works- for everyone else.
But not for Colton.

Han knows it just as well as he knows the blaster he keeps strapped to his hip, that this dangerous game they keep playing is only fun until someone steps wrong and everything shatters. Neither one of them is meant for... whatever this is- kriff knows Han doesn’t have a clue. But just as well as he knows it he knows- just like the first, and the second, and the third, and the sixth time he’d woken up to an extra body in the bed beside him- some part of him deep in the back of his brain doesn’t want this to stop.

Han shoots him an affronted look.
“Okay, buddy- pushing me around is one thing, but insulting my ship is another. You’re forgetting, this is the ship that-”

Han eases up on him, lips ticking back up into that smug smile. Boba wants to deck him.

“It’s nearly sunup,” Jango responds. Boba rubs his knuckles into one of his eyes and then drops his hand into his lap, squinting at Jango like he can barely keep them open in the first place, and Jango couldn’t stop his lips from curling into a little smile he tried. “You should be asleep by now.”
“I was waitin’ for you,” Boba mumbles, and there’s that pang through Jango’s chest again, intense as a laser bolt to the heart.
Jango makes it back late to Kamino after a job. Boba, stubborn as he is, refuses to go to bed until his dad gets home to tuck him in.
