Ever since moving to America, Satoru has had a hard time adjusting to the different culture and language barrier. However, one day, as a teenager, he runs into an ice hockey rink. To say that had caught his attention would be an understatement. Ever since then, he has been enamored with Ice Hockey. He prided himself on being the team captain, a hot shot. That doesn't change even the slightest once he is accepted into Cornell University.
Well...
Besides a friend of his roommate, someone who he begins to make out with shortly after meeting him. He swears he's not the type of guy to get around! It's just... this guy is different. His chest feels lighter around him and his stomach does flips.
he has to reel himself in, though. He has to remember that the number one rule is to keep it casual, keep the emotion out of the equation.

Satoru takes another step forwards, arms spreading wide in excitement, “Yūji-kun! You’re here!”
“Oh my God,” the child repeats breathlessly, sounding far older than any child his age should sound, unable to tear his eyes away from Satoru. The boy shakes faintly, shock maybe, words a shaky exhale, “it’s really- you’re- you look- this is— oh my God!”
Annnnd there’s really no doubting it now.
Clearly those vivid dreams of war, imprisonment and eleven years of growing up is not the dream Satoru had thought it to be since waking up in the infirmary as a seventeen-year-old student, way back before the source of all his problems defected from Jujutsu society.

Summary
In short, Thomas Jefferson realizes they have been time-traveled to 2022 and he is an anxious mess.
“Cheer up, Tom. You have seen one room! You may find pleasure yet in the modern age.”
So far the only thing that seems remotely pleasurable is that John is here to act as a companion. Thomas is suddenly reminded of their reality, back in their time. That they have not spoken to each other with such tenderness and kindness since their time in Europe. Politics is a bitter profession. He regrets deeply that he and John could never agree on matters of policy. Even though John gets the most heated during arguments, Thomas feels the most at fault. If he had just relented. Acknowledged that they both had the nation’s success at heart. Perhaps things would not have been so cold between them for so long.
“Thank you,” He says. He sneaks a hand down to grip the one John has pressed against his thigh. “For… calming me like an old friend. Like we have never held bitter feelings for each other.”
“I have always loved you, and always will.” John confirms fiercely. “You know that.”
