   “It was then that Percy’s exhaustion truly caught up to him. The demigod’s knees buckled and he would’ve hit the deck, but someone caught him. He was vaguely aware of six voices encircling him, and a pair of strong arms lifting him. Then his eyes rolled back into his head and he was consumed by darkness.”

   In other words, when the Argo II is under attack, Percy’s loyalty kicks in and he overexerts himself to save his friends. He has a lot of power, and a lot of power to give away in crisis. Leaving him exhausted after the fight.
