It hadn’t seemed like a lot, not when two of the other managers and Yukie had offered to help. But then the other teams had called their managers back, and Yukie had been sent to go help Coach out, and well, here she was, a helper down, with ingredients for at least three different dishes laid out in front of her and a hard time limit to finish cooking everything before the team was done with practice.
She rolls up her sleeves, and grabs a knife. Well, this wasn't going to cook itself was it?

Summary
Nanami was determined to get what he had come for and leave. He was tired, on a time limit, and generally unwilling to deal with the students from the academy on a good day if it wasn't part of his work day. Given that he wasn't on the clock, he had been forced to work overtime the day before (and almost every day before that this month), and this was decidedly not a good day, he should be within his rights to ignore any student he came across.
Which he was going to, without reservation. He had his own issues, and really, was grocery shopping such a barrier to overcome as a teen? surely not. He would be no worse for grabbing ingredients, then leaving to cook and pass out for the next 20 hours.
So that was what he was going to do.
Definitely.
...Damn it.

“What is it? Why are you smiling like that?” Hirugami flashes his chopsticks at his brother.
“If Kourai pretended to court you for a little while then it gets the other wolves off our backs and it means I don’t need to worry so much about you.”
Hirugami chokes on air, sputtering. Hoshiumi looks about as thrilled as he feels.
“It would only be until this all tides over.” From the smile on Fukurou’s face he’s enjoying this. “Oh, come on, it’s not that bad, is it? To be honest, Sachirou, I’d really feel better if you had Kourai keeping an eye on you. I don’t think Meian’s pack would be bold enough to come after you then.”

"He's…" Kakeru leans back on his hands, and then says, "my boyfriend, actually."
It just feels like something he wants to tell Tobio. His cousin stares silently at him for an awkwardly long time, but Kakeru doesn't feel uncomfortable. If anything, this is normal for Tobio, he's realizing. He does wonder what Tobio will think.
"Huh," Tobio says, eventually, nodding like this makes sense. "That's why you were being so mushy."
Kakeru swats at his shoulder. "I was not."
"Yeah, you were," Tobio says.
"Is that why you're too nervous to text Hinata?" Kakeru counters. "You're afraid of being mushy?"
Tobio's mouth falls open. "What?!"

im crying thank you for writing this ahhh this is so good thank you for combining two of my favorite things oh my gosh this was characterized so well for kageyama and kakeru both and i LOVE their interactions they are so cute together and its great to see kakeru happier and more figured out and he has the "cool older cousin who absolutely does not think hes cool what" vibe NAILED and ahhhh
