She reached out, planning on pulling him into her embrace, but before she made contact, she froze before pulling back. He wouldn’t want her of all people to comfort him, he’d said as much the last time she tried. “Do you honestly think I want succor from the vilest woman on earth?” She let her hands fall to her lap.
