Summary
27 year old, aspiring writer Penelope Featherington is looking for a new job — recently evicted from her flat and now staying at her best friend's house until she can figure out what to do next — Penelope decides she just needs something over the summer so she can save money. After a lot of failed job interviews, she ends up working for her best friend's older brother as a live-in nanny. What she didn’t anticipate was his grumpy attitude, cold demeanor, his lack of enthusiasm for his own work, and the fact that he can't seem to stop looking at her.
39 year old, single dad Colin Bridgerton is a father by day and a writer by night. His job getting more demanding and stressful because of the highly anticipated next installment of his book series, he decides that he needs a little help balancing his home and work life so he agrees to hire his sister’s friend Penelope Featherington as his live-in nanny. It was supposed to be a good opportunity for him to get the help he needed, to be able to fix his schedule, to get on track, but what he didn’t expect was the torture it was to want to kiss her every time she opened her smart mouth.

Penelope glances at him sideways. His cheeks are a little flushed, that pretty mouth of his partly open. He is still staring at her.
“Um. Well. They said you were daddy material.”
The minute it comes out of her mouth she knows she should not have said it. It is so deeply, awfully inappropriate. Her cheeks burn. She is about to apologise when Colin straightens and twists his whole body towards her.
“What does that mean?” he asks. When she does not answer, he uses his stern teacher voice, the one he uses on the students. “Penelope. Tell me.”
