Whirl knew this was incredibly stupid. Probably the worst idea she’d ever had, but then, she’d had a lot of those. Her bad ideas’d cost her her eye, and her hands, and a better life, after all. She was practically an expert on doing shit you shouldn’t do. Still, she kicked up the horse she’d stolen all that time ago into a trot. It’d been a good horse. She hoped someone would care for it when this whole awful plan went bad.

Cole uses his free hand to hold onto the handrail, trying his damndest to ignore Genji’s fingers, rubbing slow, methodical circles on Cole’s waist, or the cool shifting grip on his wrist, or the warm air emanating from the vents at the back of his neck, or the way his head almost imperceptibly nudges into the crook of his shoulder as he helps him up the stairs.
“Where’s your room?” Genji whispered, looking around the small corridor that composed the second floor. Cole looked down, only now realizing how close their faces were.
“Uh.” He helpfully supplied, pulling his eyes from Genji’s with much difficulty.
Just in time to celebrate a successful stakeout, Genji gets a new liver.

Summary
He doesn't remove any of his armour, letting water slide over skin and metal, only covering his core with a layer of tack as a precaution, imperfect machine that he is. Seeing any more of himself, of scarred skin and black silicone, would all be more of a reminder of how little of him is truly human now. So he just leans against the tile, thankful to still be able to feel the water’s warmth.
He hears a jingle of spurs, barely caught by his ears amongst the drumming of water on tile and the swirl of the drain underneath his feet. There’s no one else in Blackwatch with such gaudy taste in fashion and blatant disrespect for the force’s dress code. There’s purpose in that methodical jingle –Cassidy can be quiet when he so wishes, fact learned over the last few weeks of one-sided avoidance– : Waltzing into the communal showers at an hour when only one other man is there, Cassidy wants to be heard.
