Shen Wenlang winces at the cold metal, and the terror of the blade’s abilities and his father’s cold intentions.

“And you expect me to believe that?” Shen Yu breathes out a laugh with no traces of humor in it. His tone turns into a measured teasing tone, “You’re just like your dad. Scheming and lying.”
Shen Yu sharply digs the blade into the tender spot on his son’s collar. Shen Wenlang wails at the agony of the pain, desperately pulling at his father’s wrist, but only making the blade dig deeper into his skin.

Summary
"Why are you going to such lengths to—"
"Because I don't want to hurt you again!" Shen Wenlang finally snaps before paling and looking away.
The sudden escalation hangs between them, as heavy as the scent of iris that accompanies it.
Wenlang's jaw flexes. "I can't hurt you again. Our first time should have been happy and good and loving and instead I—" he cuts off as his voice breaks.
Oh. Gao Tu's heart feels like it's going to burn out of his chest. Wenlang… all this time?
Wenlang meets his eyes again, something tortured and stubborn in his gaze.
"I raped you," he says, flat and awful.

Or Shen Wenlang has to deal with how genuinely awful a person he's been and wrestle with why Gao Tu might forgive him anyway.

Summary
Set during the phase when Sheng Shaoyou half-forgives, half-tolerates Hua Yong and the two still haven’t properly reconciled:
Shaoyou still remains a little angry and a lot wary - unsure whether he should trust this man after all his lies. An unexpected incidence pushes him to finally confront his feelings and recognize Hua Yong’s devotion. It also leads to Hua Yong realizing that love is more than one-sided reverence.
