Wilbur stood in the light of the moon, watching his pocket watch as the hands slowly ticked towards midnight. Eighteen years and not a moment earlier. That had been his promise to Phil, and now that time was nearly up. Five minutes, four minutes, three, two, one.
Finally, as the minute hand hit twelve, Wilbur snapped the watch shut.
It was time to take his boy.
