Droids with loyalty so fierce he wonders if all creatures sentient – and not – are bound to worship her. He is losing himself in her and he knows he needs to stop.
Kylo Ren is Bound to Rey and hides from her, never revealing himself, quietly driving himself mad with her light.

Snoke is two years dead, and yet the bond lives on.
He comes to her in her dreams, where she stands in a valley bordered by waterfalls and carpeted with flowers. Sometimes he seethes with resentment or the sting of betrayal; other times melancholy envelops him like a dense fog. Most of the time he is just exhausted, and that’s when she worries about him the most, even after everything that happened.
But not hatred; never hatred, not directed at her in any case, though she thinks she’d prefer it to what stands in its place. Every time he comes to her, his presence is underscored by a gnawing hollowness that erodes the edges of whatever soul he still possesses. Kylo sincerely doubted any of them would be so cruel as to have their companion fend for themselves in the streets, especially when considering how small she was. Still, there was something undeniably clever about her.

“There’s nothing you can offer.” Kylo's face softens into something that looks almost like pity. Rey thinks she likes that even less than his anger.
Technically, he’s right. She’s already agreed to stay on this Destroyer, to be taught, to work under his tutelage. But this is Finn. Her first friend. The one who came back for her when no one else had.
And Rey has noticed the way that Kylo watches her sometimes, when he thinks that she doesn't see. The way that he blatantly won't look at her when she's recently out of the 'fresher, or the way that he scrambled to cover her with his cloak when her shirt was once torn during a training exercise. “That’s not true,” she says, hands starting to shake. She still has one final card to play.
