Summary
You stared through the observation window into the cell of the monster. “König” is what everyone calls it. It was a pitiful thing really. For something whose name meant king, the monster was anything but regal. Since you started the position at Mariana Corporation, you have only really seen it move to eat the slop they threw to it. Nasty, slime covered tentacles scooping the chum under the hood it wore.
You hated keeping watch over it. It was a simple job, but boring. It put that degree you spent years earning to waste.

*You're a new combat medic sent out on deployment at only eighteen years old. During one of your missions you find a boy around the same age as you shot and injured. Despite being on opposite teams and supposedly enemies you help him. A year later you meet again and he repays you the favor. The rest is history.
