Summary
Zenos yae Galvus is no stranger to others brushing his hair, but when he permits the Warrior of Light to indulge himself, the experience is more unique than expected.
--
As a child, the faceless household staff had seen to all of his hygienical needs, the brushing and styling of his hair completed with the same silent speed and efficiency as machines. It was plain that Mairze was not approaching this as another task to strike off a list as quickly as possible, but a social exercise to be enjoyed –interesting what a difference that made. Each stroke of the comb was slow and tender, which was was strange, but not unpleasant; novel, even.

Summary
Ever since that harrowing chase in the Yanxian Wilds, memories of that night gnawed incessantly at the edges of Shirley Mairze’s mind, his musings violently flitting between murder and things that made him sick with shame. His time in the Azim Steppe had been a comforting distraction, but all-too fleeting. Once his business there had concluded, Zenos –the rumbling danger in his voice, the sting of his teeth buried in Mairze’s flesh, the collar of bruises he’d left around his neck– wormed his way back into every waking thought, and Mairze was going to go mad if he didn’t do something.
Something VERY stupid.
--
A follow-up to "Run, Beast. Run" in which Zenos grants Shirley Mairze an audience.
