    Summary

He was afraid of what Hell might do to him. He was afraid of what Heaven might do to him.

He never, ever considered whether he should be afraid of Aziraphale. No, that was so far out of mind as to be practically impossible to entertain.

    Until it was too late.

“It’s just,” he continued, “I’ve noticed that humans—some humans, anyway—they use that word, angel, as a…well, as a sort of…endearment.”

“Do they?” said Crowley, who had invented using the word as an endearment in the 13th century AD.

    Summary

Aziraphale can feel love– the love for things, for places, for the people around him. He can feel that Crowley loves, too. He loves the Bentley and his plants and the Earth.

But never once does Aziraphale feel any love from Crowley for him.

Which would be fine, of course, if not for the fact that Aziraphale loves Crowley like it’s the only thing he knows how to do.

For spring term 2019, Hob sets his students an assignment. The guidelines are purposely vague, the subject broad. They are to write an essay on any historical period, event, figure, or phenomena of their choosing. One assignment in particular catches his eye.

A Brief History of the Occult in Britain.

    Hob sets about reading.
