Come on in, come on in, Strattlanders, come in from the bitter, angsty cold. It’s a brutal world out there, filled with beautiful but tragic stories. So much heartbreak, so much loss, so many missed opportunities. But in here, it’s warm! Cozy up by the fire. Here, have a bowl of sour skittles and a colorful, cozy quilted blanket. Let’s throw aside reality and canon, and imagine a story where Eva and Ryland aren’t torn by a lab explosion (and Eva’s cold efficiency). Or where Eva doesn’t spend decades in jail. Maybe she gets a different ending. Maybe they work out their issues. We’ll find out soon! So take these two cups of warm, comforting coffee, and let’s begin…

She wonders what they’ll charge her with as they place the handcuffs around her wrists. Environmental destruction, certainly. Extortion and racketeering? Probably. Someone could make the case for smuggling—it would be interesting if they got her on piracy. She turns to give her final good-byes, and her heart stops.
“Ryland Grace, you are under arrest.”
OR
Eva Stratt was prepared to be the world's scapegoat. She'd angered too many people and skirted too many rules not to be. She didn't expect Ryland Grace to get arrested right alongside her.
