Summary
Anon is just another guy. Another guy in the system, finding himself tossed into one unhappy assignment to another before getting dropped into a correctional facility between each one. Alongside the masses of other males that aren't quite in the right headspace the State wants them to be in. Promises of 'thought exercises' and 'therapy' to help them all become the perfect partners for the special assignment pool before getting matched with 'that special someone.'
Most men are in and out in a couple of months tops, never to return and anon finds himself marking his ninth consecutive month in here and doesn't see himself being up to scratch any time soon. Especially after the major 'restaffing' that has occurred recently due to 'mismanagement of power.'

Summary
The stories of many heroes involve the great deeds they've done in battle. For some, the test of heroism doesn't come until after the battle is already won. After the dust of a planet-altering war that brought divine magical abilities and two-legged animal people to our reality finally settled, a young man struggles with his place in the new world. His chance to become a legend like he always dreamed of has come and gone with little to show for it, overshadowed by the legacies of the real heroes he fought alongside. But when a former teammate, a literal beast of war, shows up at his doorstep pregnant and alone, the young man must discover if he truly missed his opportunity at heroism.
