Summary
“$100 says he’s not taking a girl home tonight,” Eddie wagers.
All four of them look at him with stunned looks on their faces, as if they can’t possibly believe Eddie is being so stupid. Eddie shrugs, holds his arms out in a take it or leave it kind of gesture. Of course, they all think he’s insane, so -
“Deal,” Athena says.

Summary
Buck's not sure what's going on when Eddie starts kissing him on the head after a rough call, only now it's A Thing, and it's a thing Buck would very much like to continue if he knew what it meant.
(or another Buddie fic where everyone knows except Buck.)

Summary
Buck doesn’t think that if he were to say, “I’m in a bad place”, that anyone would turn him away. Really, he doesn’t. The 118 has too many good, kind people for that.
But every time he wants to open his mouth, to say something, to reach out to Eddie or Bobby or Hen or Chim, he hears Eddie yelling, “you’re exhausting.”
—you’re exhausting, you’re exhausting, you’re exhausting—
So each day he does his job and he laughs and he jokes and he pretends he’s the care-free goofball he’s always been. And each day he packs away his bruises and his worries, takes them home to his empty loft with its quiet rooms, and licks his wounds in silence.

Summary
Curling in on himself, Buck coughs in earnest, hacking violently enough that he tastes bits of copper on his tongue. Eyes watering, struggling to breathe, Buck shifts to his hands and knees. The vials roll away, leaving him with a free hand to pound against his sternum. The sensation of something crawling up his neck, choking him, has panic setting in until it’s finally free. Something plops onto the floor with an unsettling wetness.
Looking down, he sees a full grown string of honeysuckle, roots and all, tainted with splatters of blood in the silvery moonlight. Its nectar still lingers on his lips, sugary, delicate, ominous. The message is clear. Buck leans his forehead on the floor, and screams.
Even knowing this love would eventually kill him, for Eddie, he’ll let it.
✽⊱ ⚘ ⊰✽
Buck's looking death down the barrel, yet again, this time in the form of Hanahaki. Eddie's leaving for Texas, Maddie's struggling in the aftermath of being kidnapped, Bobby has yet another specter of his past coming to haunt him. Buck will let himself strangle on the blossoms of his own unspoken love rather than ruin what little he has left.

Summary
He'd planned on sleeping some of the day away, right on the couch, just until it was time to pick Christopher up from school.
And then he'd gone to drive his parents to the airport, and came back home to music blasting and everything his mother nudged out of place back in order and Buck, halfway through the dining room with an armful of sheets, the whole pile wedged under his chin as he tried to keep it upright.
in which a fitted sheet is a metaphor for love, and eddie is in it.
