“Yes, Sirius’s brother is my editor. I have no idea how you guys figured that out, and I don’t think I even want to know. And yes, he is gorgeous, please stop drooling over him in discord messages. I’m jealous.”

Regulus has always loved French. So, when James asked the Slytherin to teach him, he didn’t hesitate to agree. He didn’t get to speak the language outside of conversations with his parents and Sirius, and welcomed the idea of getting to share the experience with his boyfriend, too.
But there’s always difficulty in teaching and learning a language. With his eagerness to speak French even half as well as Regulus does, James is up for the challenge anyway, and Regulus is surprised to hear just how much James has learned.
Or, Regulus discovers James knew a bit more French than he let on.

Summary
James smiles against the skin of his neck, where he has his face buried. He doesn’t overthink it, doesn’t think about how he so desperately wants to be more than sex for Regulus, because there, in the bathroom of a bar, still in the haze of sex, James feels like it’s enough. For that night, for that moment. Afterwards, he has all the time in the world to regret it, but when Regulus hugs him and falls into comfortable silence, James decides it’s best to deal with it later.

"You will not believe this, Lily" Sirius gushed immediately. "People here just expect for you to waiter their drink over to them. Like it's some grand restaurant or something. I mean, look at that dude there!" (He pointed at Remus.) "Called out his name twice and he still didn't seem to get the message. I had to walk over to give him his drink. He didn't even apologise!"
Lily stared at him with wide eyes.
"What?" Sirius asked.
"Sirius, Remus is deaf" Lily whispered.
"What?" Sirius asked.
"He can't hear" she explained.
"Yeah, I know what deaf- ooh" Sirius realised. "I fucked up, big time."

Sirius meets Remus in a pretty embarrasing situation, and quickly realises he wants to make it better. Maybe he even goes over the top, but he doesn't mind, and neither does Remus.

This is a tragedy with a happy ending if that exists. It's the type of thing you can read one paragraph of, one sentence of even, and ponder that sentence not truly knowing what it means. Until that one night that you wake up thinking about that sentence, that paragraph, that chapter, and the meaning of it all comes flooding into you like water through a river. The true meaning floods through you so powerfully, so strongly, and so deeply heartbreaking you can't help but have that feeling of crying in your chest. That feeling of sadness that's so deep and so overwhelming you feel as if you'll never breathe the same way again, the feeling like you'll never know the meaning of anything else. The feeling that's so tragically beautiful you'll never want to feel anything else, you'll never want any other feeling to exist in your soul, you'll never want to think of anything else. That feeling is what you'll feel every moment of reading this. This isn't something you read, it's something you'll experience and leaves a feeling you'll want to remember for the rest of your life.
