Summary
“I wanted to tell you- this is fun, don’t look at me like that!” he titters for a moment, then grins. “You were in my dream last night.”
Jean schools his features to look unimpressed, and affects his voice to neutrality. “And what were we doing in your dream, Harry?”
Harry scratches the back of his neck, looking thoughtful. “We were running for hours and hours, day and night looping around us. But eventually, I realized we were just running in circles, and I wanted us to go somewhere instead.” Jean flushes a bit at how serious Harry seems about his strange dream.
Jean stands up rather abruptly, suddenly self conscious, setting about gathering his gym clothes from his bag. Without looking at Harry, who’s following his lead in getting ready for class, he asks, “Where did we go?”
He can’t interpret the tone of Harry’s voice. Maybe he’s apologetic, or calculating.
“I woke up before we could figure it out. You should think about where you would’ve liked for us to go. And if I have that dream again, I’ll try and get us there.”

Summary
It’s around three hours after midnight, it somehow always is in the last time, and the sadness weighing down on his chest feels no lighter than during the daytime. Harry had left long ago, he’s not even sure if he had been here with him in the first place. Yet, as he looks at his drink clutched in his cold, excessively sweaty hand, he’s sure that something was wrong. Very wrong. Not the sort of wrong you could recover from, but an actual fuck-up.
It wasn’t the alcohol.
This was neither the three glasses of neat whiskey nor the molly. No, this was a whole lot fucking worse. The realization punches a deep hole into his stomach — he had been drugged.
He thinks he starts laughing. He doesn’t hear himself laugh. He only feels his lungs vibrate like a beehive in his chest.
And now, it was too late. Everything was too late.
--
Jean gets kidnapped, Harry finds him three days after, all the while they're slowly getting lost amid the chasm of lust, denial and love.

Summary
It’s spring, it’s Jean’s first time leading the task force, and Harry swings an arm around him. The paperwork is nearly done and elation is still fresh on everybody’s face. He ruffles Jean’s crow black hair and announces to the bullpen day’s over boys, we’re doing dinner, drinks and strippers, gotta make this one one to remember.
Jean doesn’t usually enjoy joining such nights - he prefers drinking in the dark quiet of a worn out dive with regular bathroom pitstops for lines - but today is a special day. He leans his shoulder into Harry’s chest and knocks his head against his, laughing . Sure, he hears himself say, do your fucking worse, Du Bois. Harry winks. Thought you’d never ask.
