For once, Varian’s calculations were correct.
After taking the Moonstone, Cassandra returns to Corona in search of Demanitus’s scroll.

And Rapunzel has no intention of letting it end there.---

It’s a very good, very smart plan.She’s going to use the shapeshift cloak to disguise herself as Zhan Tiri, get close to Cassandra, and finally understand what’s going on in her silly head.
The problem is, Cassandra doesn't buy it at all, but she is absolutely going to let this play out. -

In Once a Handmaiden, Cassandra only needed a few more minutes.
A few more minutes to get Rapunzel alone. A few more minutes to take off the cloak herself, before Zhan Tiri could tear it away in front of the whole kingdom. A few more minutes to say what she had come back to say.
This time, she gets them.
It should make everything easier.
It does not.Or: how cosmic grandeur is defeated by a metaphorical bean and one very determined chameleon.

Summary
Version française de ma fiction "A mine trap", basée sur la série Tangled.
L'histoire commence quand Cassandra réalise que la petite fille enchantée est en fait Zhan Tiri, et la portée de ses actes. Comme dans la série, elle veut alors tenter de trouver Raiponce pour aller se faire pardonner.
Mais Raiponce est introuvable.
Cassandra comprend alors qu'elle n'a pas pu s'échapper des mines dans lesquelles elle l'a bloquée plus tôt. Et tente d'aller la secourir.
(Note : on ne sait pas exactement combien de temps se passe entre l'épisode de la mine, et celui ou Cassandra revient pendant le festival de l'amitié. Ici, j'ai considéré qu'il ne s'était passé que deux jours. C'est certainement plus que ça dans la série.)
