Summary
After Coney Island, Mabel doesn't expect her life to intersect much with that of Theo's. So it comes as a surprise when he proposes to hire her as an investigator, to help him track down his estranged mother who's disappeared without a trace.
Mabel accepts the case reluctantly, expecting to find out more about Theo's past. What she doesn't expect is making discoveries about herself and Theo in the present.Life was meant to take them to different directions, creating separate avenues for them. But they walk on desire paths, leading them back to each other.
