Angel hated when Alastor dropped the act.
When the voice was on, Angel could tell himself that it was just a game they were playing. Just some new form of entertainment that Alastor was seeking. It didn’t mean anything. No whispered words spoken in French when the Radio Demon thought he was asleep had any real bearing in the light of day because, in the light of day, they were nothing.
They barely interacted in the hotel, except where unavoidable, and even then neither one acknowledged the other publicly. They met in secret in the dead of night, under cover of darkness and shadow. It was nothing more than that. They had both agreed to that.
So why was Alastor so hell bent on changing that?
