Summary
With Halsin gone and the druids beginning a ritual to evict his people, Zevlor is in sore need of a hero. What he gets is Marinara, an enigmatic dragonborn ranger with a cryptic past and an unsettling propensity for violence. As threats start to pile up on all sides, he finds himself with little choice but to accept their offer of help despite his own misgivings.
Or: two people abandoned by their respective gods come together, fall apart, and maybe find their own way forward in the process.

"“She comes more often when she thinks I’m not here,” Mother’s voice rang out from her study, making the large orc jump. She must have noticed him watching Tav leave through the window, might even be getting the wrong idea.
“Tav spoke to you for thirty minutes, Mother, and only spoke to me for five so I don’t know what you’re getting at.” Thick fingers adjusted the position of one of Mother’s pots. It wasn’t getting enough sun. That’s why he was at the window, really. He just… happened to notice Tav’s red hair when he looked outside. And things… well they weren’t exactly safe, were they? It… felt good to watch until the elf disappeared, knowing that they’d left safely. That was all.
