Summary
A pale hand emerged from the soil, fingers clawing at the dirt. Another hand followed, then arms, shoulder…until a figure began to haul itself out of the damp earth, clawing its way out with desperate urgency.
It was a boy, no older than seventeen, naked as the day he was born, his skin caked with dark earth. Collapsing on the ground, the male gasps and coughs, gazing up at the stars.
With great effort, he pushed himself up to a sitting position, running trembling hands over his face and through his disheveled hair. Exhaustion and frustration radiated from every pore as he surveyed his surroundings with bleary eyes.
“Fucking hell,” he muttered, voice hoarse from disuse. “Again? I swear, if I have to die and come back one more time…”
His eyes snapped wide open in realization, his mouth falling open in indignation.
“Those bloody idiots killed me!”
