The dragon flinched and tried to jerk his head away, but Gregory was firm, forcing the contact, tipping his face up so that they could look at one another - really look at one another.
“Destroying everything, including yourself… that’s the easy way out,” he continued, “the hard thing to do is to look at what scares you and do it anyway. I learned that fighting you.”
Gregory has always been the only one to see through Rafal's pretenses, and that terrifies them both.
