Summary
They planned it all out, and worked hard to make it happen: Origin would keep everyone safe while the worlds intersected and rebooted, then put everything back just as it was. So why have Rex and Shulk – their adventuring days behind them, and attentions turned to raising their families and building their communities – found themselves dumped unceremoniously into this confusing, broken, patchwork world of child soldiers and annihilation events? And how are they supposed to fix it when they don’t understand what went wrong?

What was Shulk to him?
Older, certainly. Wise. Kind. Reserved in a way that Rex wasn't, but eager to talk about machines and engineering in a way that usually annoyed most people when Nikol brought it up. In some ways, they looked alike, but Nikol's face is a bit different, his coloration different too. Sometimes he would catch Shulk looking at him with an expression Nikol could never quite place, caught somewhere between pain and affection.

Summary
After the worlds separated again briefly they successfully merged together into one world. The saviors and rulers of Alrest and Bionis have regained their memories of Aionios however the same cannot be said for the warriors who aided in bringing Aionios to an end. Despite that, those warriors now as children see glimpses of lives that they never lived. Fate or some other force brings Noah, an orphan taken in by the queen of the Bionis, and Mio the youngest princess of Alrest together once more. As the years go by old bonds are rekindled between the children and old wounds are reopened once more while their parents are at a loss of how to aid their children in facing it all. Their lives are challenging yet peaceful as the children reach maturity and their full memories slowly return until one day an evil presence surfaces which forces heroes of old and new to band together and protect the bright future they fought so hard for.
