Cassian has always been a mystery to Driver, even when the first time they met until now, after fighting against Northern vilzone. Driver still can’t understand who Cassian really is behind that villain’s silhouette.
Over and over, Cassian showed traces of things a boy his age should never have carried within him. Driver knows he shouldn’t care too much about it. That’s the unwritten rule of villains. He told himself that many times, buried his curiosity under nameless feelings and countless problems. Yet when an unexpected opportunity appeared, whispering it would quench his curiosity, how could Driver turn it away?
In the marrow of his being, he was still an engineer.

Summary
Living on the run sucks. No one had ever told Enjin otherwise- except maybe those movies about couples eloping together he'd watched when he was younger, but he knew even back then that those couldn't actually be close to how it actually would be. After all, none of the characters in those movies were ever running from the shit Enjin had to run from- granted, Enjin also never thought he would have to run from shit like this, but here he was.
What those movies also didn't tell him, was that it was scarily easy to get attached to random children you find on the side of the road.

Rudo and Regto are banished to the pit when he is only ten years old after they are framed for murder. They land in a garbage field of poison air, trash beasts, and a future scraped together from whatever they can salvage.
Nothing was trash to Rudo. Every item is important and he'd fix all of them if he could. How was he supposed to know that they seemed to care about him, too?
Or.. Regto does everything he can for Rudo on the ground even if it means risking it all when they join the Cleaners.
