Summary
“Evil Eye, is that you?” Jiji whispers frantically as he holds the kozuka knife in his hand. The knife doesn't respond.
An explosion sounds behind him. No time for second guessing. Whatever this thing is, his spiritual energy alone isn’t enough to beat it. They need Evil Eye's endurance.
He draws the knife across the back of his hand, willing the cold blanket of Evil Eye to sink into his bones; the familiar simmering rage to penetrate his flesh and a mantra of violent opinions to spill into his psyche. Instead, it feels like there's a weight on his back.
“You're not Rin,” Mai says snidely as she materialises.

After a run-in with kozuka knife wielders leaves them without their powers, Aira and Jiji find out what it's like to walk a mile with someone else's yokai.

Summary
Through an impressive bout of miscommunication, Aira comes to realise that her first love Takakura is in love with somebody else - Jin Enjouji. Devastated, but still honour bound as one of Earth's pretty guardians to fight for love and justice, she swears to help Takakura win over the man of his dreams.
On the other side of the coin, Ken finds himself reluctantly playing wingman to Miss Shiratori's romantic endeavours, after she confesses her love for Jiji to him out of the blue. But why does she keep volunteering him for romantic opportunities that would be better used herself?
Aira is determined, Ken is confused, and Jiji and Momo are just along for the ride.

It’s 49 hours in when she meets the spirit for the first time and she feels like maybe its arrival should have been heralded with war drums or screeching violins, but instead all she gets is a second of alarm on Jin’s face as she leans in to stroke his cheek (forgetting that her hand is wet with condensation dripping from her glass of ice water) and that sweet face goes from alarm to a wary stare, so she says the first thing that comes to mind, which is ‘hello there, sweetie, what’s your name?’
‘Evil Eye,’ it says, and then it asks for juice.

The Cursed House and Evil Eye arcs from the perspective of Jiji's mother, as she comes to terms with what happened to her, her husband, her son, and her new son.

With Evil Eye under control for now, all they have to do is make sure Jiji stays warm and mostly dry. When that last part becomes harder to manage, Ken gets roped in for bodyguard duties.
Sweet, silly, not at all shippy.
