Summary
Nothing was stable. Jack was always running, always moving, always onto the next thing because there was nothing but the next thing to look forward to. He didn’t have any long term plans, because it was hard enough to go day to day, week to week, month to month.
That was why, he told himself, he’d never had any long term relationships. Of any kind, really. He had a few friends, a few people he hadn’t let go of, but he was scared. Terrified. Of letting anybody get too close.
