Summary
Wei Ying agrees to go to Gusu with Lan Zhan but Lan Zhan, still beholden to the rules of his sect, is blind to the hurt he is causing Wei Ying. Wei Ying eventually leaves Gusu and Lan Zhan unable to cope with his departure collapses. When he wakes up he no longer has any recollection of Wei Ying's time in Cloud Recesses and Lan Qiren, in order to prevent Wanji from seeking Wei Wuxian, lies saying that Wei Wuxian left because he is corrupted by demonic cultivation
13 years later the Lan Sect is invaded by the Jin and Lan Wangji is captured. But when a small group of Jin soldiers trespass in Yiling and evoke the wrath of the Yílíng Lǎozǔ, the Jin presents Lan Wangji as a concubine to appease the terrifying sect leader of Yiling Wei.

Summary

Summary
A while passes before Lan Qiren allows him to rise from his bow of repentance. The whorls in the wooden floor are his childhood friends, punishment upon punishment served in their company. They try their best to soothe the churning in his gut.
“You have been bestowed an honour like no other. You are the chosen disciple.” Lan Qiren retrieves something from behind his desk and passes it to him. Heavy and cold, Lan Wangji grips the object with both hands, and then startles when he sees that he has been handed a sword. A disciple is not permitted to wield weapons, even the tools they work with must always remain blunt and dull. And yet here he is holding a sword, heavy with spiritual power.
“The fate of the Cloud Recesses lies on your shoulders. Let the heavens down and eternal damnation shall await you.”

Summary

Lan Wangji can do nothing but stare at the man outside his window. “Wei Ying?”
“Hey, you remembered!” Wei Ying seems to take that as an invitation because he swings himself through the window. “This is a nice house,” he says as he strides across the room and drops onto the seat beside Lan Wangji. “The whole place is really beautiful. I mean, I’d heard Cloud Recesses was lovely, but the rumors don’t do it justice.”
“How?” Lan Wangji manages to ask, but his mind goes blank after that single word. There are other words he would like to say. Why is one. Hello is another. What is happening right now would be nice, but he’s too stunned for full sentences.
Or Lan Wangji falls in love with a cute (possibly poor?) guy named Wei Ying, but suddenly the notorious Yiling Laozu (mysterious, possibly hot under his mask?) wants to marry him. Now Lan Wangji is being wooed by two men, but he's being so brave about it.
