    Normally Akito doesn’t make it a point to get all buddy-buddy with customers. He knows his way around a sale and can fake a smile pretty well, but he usually leaves the actual social interaction to Kohane. Lately, though, he’s found himself spending more and more time in the front of the store, paying attention to every ring of the bell above the doorframe.

    There’s a boy that’s been coming by more often lately, with a sadness about him that tempers the sharp steel of his eyes. There’s also a chance these two things are related.
