Summary
Steve's been waiting on Danny to get back for a week. He didn't expect their reunion to involve Danny Middle-Naming him, loudly, in the middle of HQ. Now Steve has to face Danny's ire over an accident that he is, if he's honest, partially responsible for. However, things aren't exactly what they seem. As Steve explains the two of them acknowledge that someone close to them isn't as thrilled about their relationship as they appeared.

Danny took a deep breath, turning his head to look at all their guests as he began speaking.
"The day that we met, I punched Steve in the face."
Laughter and gasps alike exploded from their audience. Kono and Chin were practically cackling, the only ones here who truly experienced Steve and Danny at the beginning. Danny's family, save his sisters, looked downright shocked, and everyone else- Lou, Tani, Junior, and their Hawaii ohana- didn't even look surprised. He could hear the sounds of Grace giving a sigh behind him, exasperated by them both.

Follow up to An Island's Misunderstanding
Steve goes with Danny and Grace to Jersey for a Williams family event that counts as a family reunion. He's not just meeting Danny's family as best friend or boss...but as Danny's boyfriend! It's not all fun and games as the big reason they're going is to help Danny's parents plan and organize the event. So they're very busy. In the quieter moments, however, Steve relishes in being mostly accepted by the majority of Danny's family. Enjoys the domesticity of being in the most healthy, loving, and strongest relationship he's ever had!
Of course it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Some family members are rather old fashioned. Thankfully, the event is Danny's nonna's birthday, and even if she won't admit it, Danny is her favorite grandson. So long as Steve makes him happy, she accepts him. So the rest of the Williams family has to too. Even the most narrow minded, old fashion toxic masculine men daren't go against the family matriarch! (Plus she genuinely likes Steve for her darling Daniel!)

“Yes.” Grace says firmly, and then ruins it by bursting into tears. Steve hesitates for all of two seconds before pulling her into a hug that’s sort of awkward but exactly what she needs.
“It’s okay,” he says, and it’s impossible not to believe him, because he’s almost always right. “It will be okay.”
