Summary
“Tom-Tommy..?”
Evan’s voice is small, tight with fear, and it makes Tommy want to throw up. The hallway is dim, but he knows it’s already too late. Knows Evan has already seen his eyes glow at the end of the hall, his hunched form still perfectly visible. Tommy turns his head away, shame coiling hotly in his gut. He opens his mouth, forcing himself to speak around the prolonged teeth. His gums itch with the urge to bite.
“You need to— You need to go,” he grits out.

Summary
It takes some rearranging, but eventually Eddie has replaced the pillows and Buck is able to lean back against his chest. And Eddie really needs to invest in a bigger couch at some point, because having a big boyfriend is awesome, and couch snuggles are awesome, but right now they’re a tough combo. Eddie wraps his arms around Buck, dropping a simple kiss to his blonde curls. He gets a soft hum in response, Buck’s arms overlapping with Eddie’s on his stomach.
“What are we looking at?” Eddie asks, his voice slightly muffled from where his cheek is resting against the top of Buck’s head.
“The lights.”
“Okay,” Eddie hums. “And what do we think about the lights?”

Summary
Reluctantly, Buck detaches himself from Eddie’s neck and lifts his head just enough for them to look at each other. Eddie’s eyes are dark even with the room bathing in sunlight, his pupils blown. His chest rises and falls at a quick pace, his cheeks flushed. Buck can’t help but lick his own mouth at the sight of Eddie’s kiss-bruised lips.
I did that, he thinks. A few months ago he hadn’t even known how to kiss Eddie properly for the first time, and now he can do this. Can leave Eddie looking completely disheveled with just his mouth and hands, the sound of his fast thumping heart loud in Buck’s ears. It makes his chest swell with pride.

Summary
“Tell me,” Eddie says, heart pounding. He presses the phone harder against his ear. “Tell me what you need, Buck.”
Buck lets out a ragged breath over the line.
“You,” he rasps. “I need you.”

Summary
“My heart’s pounding,” Buck whispers.
Eddie swallows thickly, his own heart slamming so hard against his ribcage that it’s starting to hurt. He only needs to lean forward ever so slightly for their foreheads to touch, causing both their breaths to stutter into the small space left between them.
“Mine, too,” he admits.
And it almost feels like enough. Just being in this in-between. Just knowing they both feel something that’s more. More than just best friends. Without having to take the leap and change their relationship forever. Without doing something that can’t be undone.
