“You really wanna know what I’m thinking?” She asked quietly.
    “Always.”
“I think we’re driven by curiosity because the unknown breeds intrigue and possibility in the midst of our pointless mundane existence. And I know you wouldn’t have looked twice at me if you could read my mind because I guarantee there are far more interesting people out there than me. So I think this thing, whatever the hell it is, will only last until you either figure out why you can’t hear my thoughts or you get so bored that you stop giving a shit. And while I understand that hunger for knowledge—that need for answers, I’m also not interested in being nothing more than a quick dopamine hit for you or anybody else.”

    ****

A Twilight rewrite in which Isabella Swan is outspoken, stubborn, and painfully aware of how neurodivergent she is when put under the scrutiny of nosy Forks residents and a masochistic emo stalker with a pair of fangs.
