Cool hands come to rest at either side of Seto’s weary face. Calloused thumbs sweep slowly across his cheekbones, as if wiping away phantom tears, and Seto can’t help releasing a shaky sigh. Normally, Seto basks in the heat that leaches from Joey’s body like a lizard on a rock; now, his partner’s skin feels blessedly cold against the flush of his face.

Grimm sits with his head propped up against his hand, fingers pressed against his temple with the forced casualness of a man with a monster of a headache. It’s a pose I recognize well, having affected it to get myself through many a hangover. But this is Grimm we’re talking about here. I imagine the likelihood of me catching him hungover is only slightly higher than that of catching him in an act of petty thievery.

“Alecto…” Oh, her name sounds more beautiful than it ever has, coming out of his tortured mouth. “I-”
Alecto pouts, affecting a simpering voice she imagines Nyx might have coddled him with as a godling, and leans in close. “Oh, I know, honey. You’re just looking for some relief, yeah?”
Wisely, he chooses not to answer her question, sensing it for the trap it is. He simply lies there, twitching beneath the slavugs, with his eyes screwed shut. As if not being able to see what she’s doing will protect him from it.
