    Perhaps for the same reason Odysseus believes a siren will one day be his undoing, he can't seem to stay away from the serpent. Diomedes should consider himself a fool for that.

    For the past two days, Odysseus acted as if nothing had happened. Since Diomedes was the one wronged, supposedly it was up to him to dictate the course of their relationship from this point onward. He assures himself that's what he is doing right now as he enters Odysseus' tent.
