Summary
Kaveh regrets ever accepting this new commission. It is not the pay nor the project itself – both are to the architect’s satisfaction. No, the problem is the client and her obsession with Kaveh.
She believes them to be “destined for each other” and takes Kaveh’s rejection as playing hard to get. In his desperation Kaveh lies about having a boyfriend, a certain scribe he shares a home with and is oh-so madly in love with. Summary

Two years later, the Traveler claims Kaveh is seen alive, in Fontaine, seemingly without a memory of who he is, living an entirely different life.
