It’s not a new thing, probably. If Buck looked back through the last seven years he’s sure he could find a hundred moments where he was, well, less than normal about his best friend. But. But Buck can’t do that. He isn’t prepared to face the possibility that the way he feels is different than he’d always thought. Because…because if it’s different, then it means they are different. BuckandEddie. And he’s not sure if he could bear that.

“You could try - I don’t know - talking to him about it?”

Buck scoffs. “Realistic suggestions only, please, Maddie.”

“Is it possible,” Chimney says, breaking the silence. Buck looks up from his phone and sees him sip from a mug, eyes glinting. “For two people to get even closer after one of them moves away?”

Buck flushes. He locks his screen, the text thread between him and Eddie fading, but it just lights up again with a notification.

...or, Eddie moves, Buck pines, and they are both very normal about it.

“Eddie Diaz,” Buck gasps. “Are you using me for my very soft cardigan?”
Eddie chuckles and tells the truth. “You looked so comfy. And I missed you.”
Buck sucks in a breath beneath Eddie’s ear. “I missed you, too,” he whispers.
“I think I missed you too much,” Eddie admits.

Or, Buck wears his pink cardigan and Eddie nap traps him about it.

    Summary

Steve Harrington was the absolute master of mixtapes. No one understood it, but he just knew what worked. And, of course very few people actually had one of the coveted Harrington Mixtapes. A scattered handful of crushes, girls he’d tried to impress in high school. But there was a small collection of mixtapes in Hawkins with real meaning. Given to good friends and trustworthy allies.

Robin held the mixtape record for a long time, holding three mixtapes in her possession by the time Vecna attacked them all.

At least, Robin held the record until the end of the summer of 1986. The summer Steve dedicated to creating a mixtape for Eddie Munson. And maybe, maybe he just so happened to fall in love in the process.

    Summary

March 2020. The Atlantic Provinces are creating a bubble to avoid a surge in Covid cases, and Anne is left outside as they close borders. Stranded in Toronto, she knows no one at all. Or does she?

“You are kidding me, Diana Barry! Baynard! Are you even hearing what you’re saying? I’m not calling Gilbert Blythe. I prefer to sleep in my dingy place and then befriend all the homeless people in Toronto and then walk to PEI and stand there until they open the damn border before calling him! It is just not going to happen! Today, tomorrow or ever, it is out of the question! I’m done with him and I will never ask him for any favours!” She had been glad not to see him in the past ten years. Well, not glad. But relieved. Because it was just too hard.

“I actually called to ask you a favour. Huge one,” Diana answered. He could tell she was nervous.
“I need you to call Anne and let her stay at your place until PEI opens the borders,” Diana said quickly, as if to take the effect off the words. There was a short silence. Then he laughed. Because the notion was so absurd, he could not think of any other reaction. If she had asked him to get a cow that gave chocolate milk, it would have seemed more serious.
