It was supposed to be a simple joke for the crowd, but the heavy sting of jealousy forces a raw truth to slip out behind closed doors. Oscar is determined to maintain the last shred of normality left between them, and even as his walls begin to fracture, he has no intention of dropping his signature bratty defiance. But Lando is a world champion for a reason, and he is methodically trying to solve Oscar like a puzzle. What starts as a dangerous game of pushing boundaries quickly turns into a slow, suffocating burn that neither of them can run from.

The door shuts slowly behind them, the figures disappearing behind a grey screen right as the thud echoes at the exact second Oscar’s heart drops right before it speeds up at the predicament he’s settled in.
Lando Norris tilts his head at Oscar with a twinkle in his eye and tone far too light for someone who had signed a contract to deceive the world five seconds ago. “Hey Oscar”
“Hello,” the tone in his voice makes him wince.
“So, know anything about formula 1?”

Summary
Oscar carefully turns back to one of the mirrors that make up the sides of the elevator and sees that his side looks a lot more aggravated than it did just a half hour earlier. The previously fading yellow and purple have reverted back to their more vibrant shades they’d been a few weeks ago. They’re accompanied by more red inflammation.
“Shit,” he whispers under his breath.
“Yes! Shit is right! You’re coming to my room and I’m getting you ice right now,” Lando says exasperatedly just as the elevator reaches their floor.or
During a padel game, Oscar takes a serve to his broken rib and injures himself more. Lando finds him after and takes him back to his hotel room to take care of him.
